While we thought IT was the pinnacle of evolution, could it actually be the last bastion of cavemen?
It must be admitted that there are very few women in the IT field. In IT service companies, I have worked with teams that had no women at all, or sometimes one in teams of 50 people.
I regularly read testimonials from the US that are quite harsh and seem very far from what I have experienced in my career. But apparently France follows the US with a 10-year delay.
Can we avoid this? I have wanted to discuss this topic for a while, but I admit I do not have all the elements for my own analysis. It is better to direct you to a very well-written post (in English, however).
Here is an open letter that seems fair, balanced, and written with humour. An opportunity to talk about this growing problem facing more and more women and to spread awareness. The post is well sourced and I recommend clicking on its links.
